Recovery Process

At Tunstall and Tunstall Inc. we understand the value and critical nature of your data.  A data loss crisis can at times be the most invasive and devastating occurrence in a business or personal environment.  This information must therefore be carefully manipulated with the greatest attention, concern and care complemented by personal professional service.

Step 1 - Evaluation of Damaged Media and Quote

This the first step and is based on the service level requested. Within 24 hours of receipt,  technicians will evaluate the condition and estimate the recovery success of the requested data.  A representative will  contact the client within 24/48 hours with a status report and quote the recovery service. Only after a complete inspection and verification of the disk structure and physical damage diagnosis, is it possible to provide the client with a reliable quote.

Basic contribution to the costs are based on inspection and electromechanical analysis of the defective media, valuation of possibilities, delays and costs to conclude the data recovery, quotation for the second and third final step. Quotation does not include media, shipping cost or expenses for specialized service levels.

NB. These conditions are valid only for intact units: In case of opened hard disk drives (seals broken) or heavily damaged units (water, fire) a supplement may be charged. Please contact us before sending us such media.

Step 2 - Approval and Recovery

Execution of the recovery work, intervention on the defective media, extraction and reconstruction of the data, physical manipulation of hard disk heads and PCB.  Cost estimates and time estimates for the completion of recovery are completed.

Approval by the client for the completion of the recovery based on quote estimate is required.

Step 3 - Transfer and Delivery

Transcription of your data to CD-ROM or requested storage device.  Delivery schedule of the return of recovered data and chosen shipping methods or arrangements for site pick-up. Transport to and from our facility should be arranged by the customer.

If you need any assistance or advice please call.  Before sending your storage device, make sure you read our Service Agreement for Data Recovery which applies to our service.
